Course directories for 2008/09

Health and fitness

Front cover of the health and fitness course directory 2008/09 Our new health and fitness directory offers a wide choice of courses for both men and women, catering for a range of abilities and experience. New courses include:

  • falconry
  • freestyle fitness yoga
  • pram-walking
  • make-up introduction
  • bodytone taster

You can take part in the group-based classes at your own level in a relaxed, friendly and professional atmosphere.

On enrolment you will be asked to complete a confidential health questionnaire to be handed to the tutor at the start of the course. This is to give you the opportunity to raise any concerns or issues with the tutor, who will help you get the most from the activities.

Life, leisure and work

Front cover of the Life, Leisure & Work course directory 2008/09 Our life, leisure and work directory has something for everyone. Whether it is family history, science or creative writing there is something for you. These courses range from one day to a full year. Lots of new courses have been introduced, including:

  • children's care
  • learning and development
  • supporting teaching and learning
  • customer service
  • playwork

Nearly all qualification courses will require you to study outside the taught course hours. The time needed for this work will vary, but consider a minimum of 2-6 hours per week - possibly more in some subjects.

Creative courses

Front cover of our Creative Courses Directory 2008/09 If you want to learn to draw, paint, sculpt, print-make or experience a new craft then we have something for you in our creative courses directory.

Our new courses include:

  • drawing for absolute beginners
  • painting with the great artists
  • bricklaying for beginners
  • willow sculpture/structure
  • cake decorating

All our art, design and photography courses are structured so that your experience, expertise and objectives are taken into account to allow you to maximise your potential within the group.

Most tutors are practising artists/craftsmen and are able to offer expert tuition to students at all levels from beginners to experts.

Thousands of students have been developing their creativity with us, some have gone on to art college, others have opened their own businesses.

Easy payment plan

You can spread the cost of your course if the total cost is more than £60. All you need to do is pay 25% of the total cost of your course and agree to pay the balance by standing order. Each standing order will incur a charge of £3 which is a contribution to our administration costs.
