Do I qualify for a reduced fee?
Find out by reading our
quick
guide to fees. Please remember that you must provide evidence
of your entitlement when enrolling.
Evidence of entitlement to
a fee reduction
If you are entitled to a fee reduction you will be required to
provide documentary evidence of your entitlement to this reduction.
You must ensure that this evidence is shown to a member of staff at
a local centre within 14 days after enrolment. If you are unable to
provide evidence of your entitlement, you will be invoiced for the
full course fee.
Working tax credit
If you receive the Working Tax Credit and your household income
is less than £15,050 you can claim reduced fees. Your award notice
letter from the Inland Revenue states your household income. You
must bring this letter with you when you enrol.
Learner support funds
If you have difficulty meeting the costs of your course, you can
seek help with fees, examination costs, travel or buying essential
books or materials. You will need to be interviewed by a programme
manager who will help you complete the application form. You must
apply for financial assistance before you enrol. Call 0845 606 5606
for details.
Care to learn
If you are under 19 and want to start or return to learning,
Care to Learn may be able to pay for your childcare and extra
travel costs. Ask for an appointment with one of our guidance
advisers to discuss this.
Childcare support
If you are on low income and need help to pay for childcare
whilst you attend courses, you can apply for financial support.
This can only be paid to registered childcare providers and for
children under school age. Call 0845 606 5606 before enrolling.
Flexible payment plan
A flexible payment plan option is available dependent on the
length and cost of the course taken. Please call 0845 606 5606 to
discuss this with enrolment staff at the time of enrolment if this
option is required.
Evidence of entitlement to a fee reduction
If you are entitled to a fee reduction you will need to request
this during enrolment and will subsequently be required to provide
documentary evidence of your entitlement to this reduction. This
evidence must be shown to a member of staff at a local adult
education centre within 14 days after enrolment. If you are unable
to provide evidence of your entitlement, you will be invoiced for
the full course fee.
How to pay
There are a variety of ways that you can pay for your
course(s)
- Debit/credit card - Switch, Visa and MasterCard are
welcomed at all enrolment points and for telephone and website
bookings
- Cheque - please make cheques payable to "Kent County
Council"
- Flexible payment plan - you might want to
spread the cost of your course over a period of time. A flexible
payment plan option is dependent on the length and cost of the
course taken. Please call 0845 606 5606 to discuss this with
enrolment staff
Refund requests
We make every effort to keep our fees as low as possible and
therefore regret that we cannot return fees to students who
withdraw from a course.
Transfer between courses is often possible. If it becomes
necessary for us to cancel your course your fees will be refunded.
