Roadworks
There are many different types of roadworks, these are carried
out by us, as well as others such as utility
companies.
In Kent we operate a permit scheme,
so anyone needing to work on the road needs to apply to us.
This helps us manage the distruptions on the roads.
Current roadworks

Go to the Kent
traffic and travel map to get the latest information
on:
- traffic incidents
- current roadworks
- available parking spaces
- road conditions from live traffic cameras
This shows details of work being carried out by
us and others in Kent - including motorways and trunk
roads.
If you will be affected by roadworks you should receive a
notice through your door with details of the
work, or you will see advanced warning boards and signs along
the route.
Roadwork schedules
Most of our work is planned in advance and some schedules are
published so you can find out when repairs and maintenance will be
taking place in your area.
We make every effort to complete works efficiently with minimum
disruption, although times scales may change, due to unforeseen
circumstances. Examples include bad weather or obstructions, such
as parked vehicles, preventing the works being carried out to
schedule. Exact dates will be displayed on advance warning notice
boards at the site.
Emergency roadworks
We are unable to give advanced warning of all the work on the
roads, for example, when we are responding to an emergency or a
fault that requires immediate attention.
When this happens, our priority is to make a road safe as
quickly as possible. We inform the local media, and where
necessary, get diversion routes and signs in place immediately.
