Privacy notice for Specialist Children’s Services
The Data Protection Act 1998 requires us to be fair and transparent with people when collecting and using their personal information. To comply with the Data Protection Act, Specialist Children's Services issue a specific privacy notice to all families and children over 12 that have that are being assessed for children's social care services. This explains how personal information is going to be used, what for, who it might be shared with and why.

The information you provide helps us to support your family and make sure that we meet our legal duties and responsibilities, for example to carry out a social care assessment. We then use this data to:
- provide you and your family with appropriate services
- measure whether our services are improving life for children and families
- help us develop and improve our services
- complete statistical returns to Government departments.
