I want you to vote for me because:
I am an experienced Kent Youth County Council member who’s passionate and will always be willing to help make a change, in not only Swale, but the whole of Kent.
Issue 1: fighting discrimination
I would like to campaign for this issue as there is a lot of discrimination being spread around. I want to break this down and help spread awareness about how discriminatory action is not okay. By doing this, i hope to make Swale a safer place for everyone.
Issue 2: littering and pollution
Walking around swale, you may notice a lot of litter around and unclean air. I would like to try and reduce the amount of litter around us by raising awareness and taking action. Air pollution is also a big concern so I will inform people on the harmful carbon emissions being released.
Issue 3: transport for children to get to school
Getting to school may be extremely difficult due to factors such as bus times, late buses. I would like to speak up on this problem as it can stop children from getting the education that they need. I will also take action by contacting the people needed to help make transport easier.
I want you to vote for me because:
I am very passionate about a lot of topics that affect young people and will work tirelessly to make sure every issue is acted upon.
Issue 1: transport issues
I guarantee that if any young person were to look at our current transport system, they wouldn't say that it is amazing. There are lots of things that could be changed, improved and adapted, bus and train times, prices of any travel cards, efficiency, safety, for example, and I want to help bring that change.
Issue 2: quality of our education experience
When I say I want to improve our education, I'm not only talking about the academic side (such as a varied curriculum), I want to make school a second home. A comfortable and welcoming place where a student can thrive and feel safe to go to someone for whatever they need, academic or not.
Issue 3: feeling safe in Kent
Feeling safe in our county is something I've been extremely enthusiastic about for a long time, already working on improving the safety of young people for nearly 2 years. I would love the chance to keep working on this by listening to your experiences and ideas and trying my best to make a change.
I want you to vote for me because:
All issues can and should be fixed, I have an imperishable determination to fix those problems so everyone can be happy, no matter what.
Issue 1: helping people from other countries and making them feel included
We can celebrate their traditional and local celebrations (in and out of school), we can set up groups (in and out of school) in which we can be taught their language and culture, and we can set up groups in which people from these countries can meet (in and out of school).
Issue 2: making it easier and faster to get to school, by giving directions and routes
We can put signs in the area, with directions to the school and we can put signs on bus and train stations (showing which buses and trains get you closest to the school), we can also create direct pathways/routes leading to the school so everyone can get there on time and save their energy.
Issue 3: accessibility for disabled people, to make everything more fair
We can add more elevators in schools and in the area so disabled people can get to where they want safely, without having to worry or take longer paths, we can also put equipment in schools and parks which allow people with any kind of disability to have fun, like seesaws for people in wheelchairs.
I want you to vote for me because:
I would like to have the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on the youth of my community before leaving for university in September 2025.
Issue 1: tackling the radicalisation of young boys via social media
The increasing rate at which misogyny is being fed to young boys on the internet can lead to women and girls feeling unsafe in our community. By shedding greater light to a topic some may consider 'taboo' in schools, we can educate others and enlighten young boys to be positive online role models.
Issue 2: highlighting neurological disorders and neurodiversity
Students work beside their peers who may be neurodivergent, yet hurtful language to describe the neurodiverse is still commonplace among young people. By shedding greater light on non-visible disabilities, we can create a more welcoming environment for these individuals within schools.
Issue 3: putting greater emphasis on extracurricular activities involving the arts
Partaking in the arts promotes expression and creativity; two vital traits needed for young people to flourish in school. By encouraging the youth to engage with the arts, we can have a positive impact on both their academic and non-academic successes, while also benefiting their mental wellbeing.
I want you to vote for me because:
I pledge to share the voice of young people and remain dedicated to making changes to our community in order to better livelihoods within.
Issue 1: tackling poverty with financial education and charity events
We often hear in the news about the cost of living crisis, recession, and poverty, however, how does this manifest into the real problems families and young people are facing every day? I would like to delve into these problems and provide real help, aiming to start charity and education projects.
Issue 2: increasing spaces for young people with the aim on diminishing antisocial behavior
Too many people feel it is unsafe to go out with the degree of antisocial behavior prevalent in many towns and cities, exacerbated by the absence of safe spaces for young people. I aim to increase youth-oriented spaces and reduce the causes of detrimental behaviors giving young people a bad name.
Issue 3: career guidance and financial literacy enrichment within the curriculum
I believe in educating students in having a strong understanding of how to manage their finances, as well as providing career guidance that will direct
them to their future career, developing with their interests and personal strengths so they feel prepared for life beyond school.
I want you to vote for me because:
I want you to vote for me because I want to make change and I want our area to be the best it can possibly be. I also want us to be heard.
Issue 1: someone to talk to
Most counsellors do not understand what situation young people are in, so it would be a great idea if they had people their age to talk to (they could talk to people at Kent Youth County Council).
Issue 2: vape bins
More and more young people are starting to vape and there are no bins specifically for vapes and because of this our country has a problem throwing vapes away in the wrong bin is bad for the environment and I would like to try and stop that.
Issue 3: parks
At the moment there aren’t any quiet places for young people to hang out in, so what if in parks there were a small sensory area, it would mean that young people that struggle with anxiety would have a quiet place to relax outside.
I want you to vote for me because:
I will listen to everybody's thoughts and concerns and do my best to represent and make a change for young people in Kent.
Issue 1: mental health
I would like to express the serious struggles that some young people have with mental health. Many adults don't take mental health seriously when it comes to teenagers and label us as "dramatic" or call our concerns "just a phase" however this can worsen things and needs to stop.
Issue 2: transport
Potentially lower the costs of school transportation. It is unfair that in order for some students to get to school they pay £550 for a bus pass which some people cannot afford. The alternative of bus is walking, which (depending on location) could be exhausting and schools aren't lenient on lateness.
Issue 3: bullying
My aim is to reduce bullying, schools claim that they do their best to prevent it when in reality they do next to nothing. Staff need to be more educated on the matter and more involved, instead of just ignoring what happens. They also need to be more aware of racism.
I want you to vote for me because:
I want to help my generation because we are the leaders of tomorrow and deserve a say in what goes on in society.
Issue 1: say no to hate
In this campaign, I would like to help reduce the rate of bullying, violence and hate crime. Want to campaign for this as studies show there were over 140,000 cases of hate crime reported in 2023. This is not ok because after all the riots that happened this summer, this number is yet to increase.
Issue 2: we only have one Earth to share
Pollution and global warming has had a big impact on our planet because the average temperature on this planet has been increasing since 1980 and hasn't gone back to normal since. This cannot continue and it will cause hotter temperatures, more severe weather, increased drought and health risks.
Issue 3: mental health matters
Unfortunately, one in five people between the ages of 12 to 18 suffer with mental health problems. This is problematic because bad mental health promotes mental illness and can lead to bad lifestyle. Bad mental health affects daily aspects of life like relationships with family, friends, school and so on.
I want you to vote for me because:
I believe in my area, and I know that in time we can make a difference to youths' lives in a positive way if we all just worked together.
Issue 1: black sheep department
We need better support for out youth including, LGBTQIA+ groups or SA help groups. As a community it is out job to make sure that people know that they are not alone.
Issue 2: disabilities in kids
Everyone deserves a shot at life. We should fund specific schools so that they can upgrade or start a neurodivergent area for kids in schools with learning disabilities.
Issue 3: building blocks of youth
Our youth centres are getting just enough funding to manage on a day to day. I believe that we should support our youth further by granting the centres more money so they can help out their areas more.
