I want you to vote for me because:
I want to take a stand for people who have special needs because i know what it feels like to be different.
Issue 1: Free School Meals
I would like to campaign to make sure college meals for young people are as healthy as school meals because this is not the case. For some people, this is the only hot meal of the day, and chicken nuggets and chips every day is not healthy! I want young people to have better choices and better meals.
Issue 2: public transport
All students should be able use their bus passes before 9.30 in the morning . They have had their transport taken away and still can't use their bus passes.
Issue 3: mental health and wellbeing
Students with special needs think in a special way to other people and they need help with people reaching out to them so they know they can get help. Some people don't know what others are going through and some people bully because they have a disadvantage themselves. I want more understanding.
I want you to vote for me because:
I will prioritise Free School Meals, tackle youth poverty, stop substance abuse, and promote environmental awareness for all!
Issue 1: tackling Free School Meals and tackling poverty
I aim to increase awareness of resources and the importance of free school meals through community campaigns and stop stereotypes about youth poverty. We'll engage local businesses for fundraising and meal support while advocating for policy changes to expand eligibility and access for all students.
Issue 2: the green movement - environmental awareness
I’m launching an environmental awareness campaign focused on affordability and accessibility. We’ll offer free workshops, tool libraries, and community gardens, partnering with local organisations. Incentives like participation points and competitions will engage young people and give commitment to sustainability
Issue 3: breathe free - stopping substance abuse among young people
This campaign aims to educate young people about the risks of substance use, promote healthy choices and foster community support. Via social media challenges, workshops, peer ambassador programmes and events, we’ll empower young people to make informed decisions and embrace their potential without substances.
I want you to vote for me because:
I would like to raise money for charity and help those in need like I did in my previous school, where I set up a food bank for those in need.
Issue 1: Free School Meals for those who need it
I would like to help those in need and those who don`t have enough money to buy school meals by making it free.
Issue 2: bullying in schools
In this campaign, I would like to raise awareness of the harm and hurt bullying can do and the mental effect it can have on those being bullied.
Issue 3: opening of youth centres where young people can meet and socialise safely in the evenings
Encourage local authorities to find suitable premises in which young people (11 to 18 years) could congregate with supervision.
I want you to vote for me because:
I'm an extremely positive person who is always determined. I like exchanging ideas with peers about improving our lives and society.
Issue 1: mental health and wellbeing
I would like more lessons provided about online safety to students with additional needs, so they can fully understand the importance of internet safety and the consequences of online bullying.
Issue 2: public transport for young people
I would campaign for the return of the Kent Reconnect bus passes, so going to places and school can be more enjoyable. Also, the time set to use you pass in the morning should be placed early so you can save money instead of paying for a bus fare.
Issue 3: Free School Meals
The meals at college are not healthy and we are not getting our 5-a-day. Some students only get one meal a day and this should be a healthy one. There should be more variety in our meals so people can actually have a choice.
I want you to vote for me because:
We all deserve a say in policies which are impacting young people. I want reduced workload, better uniforms and funding for youth areas.
Issue 1: reduced workload for students and teachers
Reduce workload in schools for pupils and teachers. We are being given pointless busy work that does not help our learning. This takes time and causes unnecessary stress on students and teachers. We need relevant tasks that do not take a toll on students or teachers.
Issue 2: updated, affordable and comfortable school uniforms
Uniforms are expensive and haven't changed substantially for a century. They are also a sensory nightmare, can affect how children function in school and are stifling hot. Very few workplaces now require jackets and ties to be worn. A polo shirt and smart trouser combo would be more accessible.
Issue 3: more funding for youth areas
We need safe places for older children (10 to 16 years) to go. Funding has been slashed or taken away completely for local children's services in Thanet. Having youth areas will help prevent children going to the streets and causing crime because they have nowhere else to go.
