Civil Society Strategy for Kent
This strategy recognises the role of civil society in Kent and sets out how we will work to support a strong and vibrant civil society across our communities.
By civil society, we mean everyone who operates outside of state control for the primary purpose of social good, including:
- individuals
- informal and formal groups
- organisations.
At the core of civil society is the social sector or voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors. The strategy reflects the crucial role the social sector plays in achieving strong and resilient communities across our county and sets out how we will support the sector through our funding of infrastructure support.
This strategy replaces our Voluntary and Community Sector policy agreed in 2015 and is our first Civil Society Strategy.
