Kent and Medway Economic Framework

The Kent and Medway Economic Partnership (KMEP) has produced its Kent and Medway Economic Framework which brings together councils, businesses, educators, the health sector, and community groups to drive forward economic growth by 2030. We are a founding partner of KMEP.

This bold framework and official economic strategy for the functional economic area of Kent and Medway, sets out 5 key ambitions and 21 action areas to develop the economy to be more productive, sustainable and inclusive.

The 5 ambitions are, to:

  • enable innovative, creative, and productive businesses
  • widen opportunities and unlock talent
  • secure resilient infrastructure for planned, sustainable growth
  • place economic opportunity at the centre of community wellbeing and prosperity
  • create diverse, distinctive and vibrant places.

By coordinated multi-agency action, KMEP will help foster the right conditions for residents and businesses to thrive, and cement Kent and Medway’s reputation as a great place to live, work, and invest.
