Preliminary flood risk assessment
The preliminary flood risk assessment gives an overview of flood risk in Kent. It identifies:
- areas of significant flood risk
- past flood events
- future flood risks.
Our findings
Based on the evidence we collected and in accordance with the government's guidance, Kent has no areas of significant risk and no past flood events that were considered to have had significant harmful consequences.
However, the assessment has identified that Kent does have an overall high risk of local flooding, but this risk is not concentrated in a single town or city.
We will use this information to develop a strategy to manage these risks. This will be our Local Flood Risk Management Strategy.
