Swale surface water management plan

Swale Borough was identified as an area where a surface water management plan would be beneficial in improving our understanding of local flood risk issues. Sittingbourne and Faversham are the two large urban areas within Swale Borough while the main rural area is the low-lying Isle of Sheppey.

Conclusions

The study identified a number of generic and local (site-specific) actions to manage the risk of local flooding. The actions ranged from the undertaking of surveys to define maintenance regimes to works to improve highway drainage.
