Facing the aviation challenge

In Facing the Aviation Challenge we discuss how the UK can meet its aviation needs through:

  • the expansion of existing airports - either Gatwick or Heathrow
  • better use of regional airports
  • improved access to the airports by rail.

This document sets out the reasons for Kent County Council’s opposition to the proposals for an airport on the Isle of Grain, which the Airports Commission is investigating further in 2014.

This document has been created in response to changes in national aviation policy.
