Children in care
Some children are taken into our care because of a legal order made by a court. For example, there may be a care order or emergency protection order. Or the child is taken into care because someone with parental responsibility has asked us to do so.
The legal process of how children are taken into care in Britain is explained on GOV.UK. We call these children looked-after children. We become their corporate parent.
In a recent Ofsted inspection our children's services have been rated as "Outstanding". Read our report.
