SEND Your voice questionnaire
We’re committed to giving all children in Kent the best start in life. This means giving every child and their family access to support and education which meets their unique needs.
By listening to the voices of our families, we hope to provide services that improve wellbeing, resilience and learning in our communities and ensure that families feel supported towards making progress together, to live their best life.
The message and findings from Kent’s 2019 Ofsted and CQC inspection were heard and accepted and we are committed to making improvements.
To inform those improvements, we needed to gather in-depth feedback relating to:
- the experience of our families
- the impact their experience has on them
- what they would like us to do to put this right.
We invited parents, carers and other stakeholders to complete the Your voice questionnaire. The questionnaire was very successful, with 660 responses submitted, so thank you to those of you who provided us with this hugely insightful feedback.
Considerable analysis has been undertaken to ensure that this feedback is captured in a meaningful way to drive forward improvements. The analysis is now complete and the Your voice summary report (PDF, 495.1 KB) and Your voice full report (PDF, 1.7 MB) are now available.
Significant work has already begun to address the areas of concern, including strong parental representation on the SEND Improvement Board. The Written Statement of Action has 5 workstreams and parents are already chairing the Parental Engagement and Co-production Workstream meetings.
The findings and recommendations of the questionnaire will now be fed into the workstreams. We're keen for parents to be represented across all of these areas to help us get things right, not only by working on the identified areas for development, but by being a part of helping us to continuously improve beyond the Written Statement of Action (PDF, 509.0 KB).
