If you are an organisation looking to create or improve facilities to increase sports participation or physical exercise in Kent, you may be able to apply for a capital sports grant.

The maximum amount of funding awarded is £5,000, and it can be used to contribute towards:

  • improvements to existing buildings and sites or conversion of redundant buildings
  • provision of specialist facilities, training centres and centres of excellence and performance
  • development of new community sports facilities
  • specialist facilities or equipment for disabled people
  • purchase of new community fixed equipment.

The grant can also be used to lever funding from other organisations into key schemes in Kent by demonstrating partnership with local authorities.

What we cannot fund:

  • revenue projects
  • equipment that is moveable and not fixed.
  • personal equipment
  • road vehicles.

Applications closed 9pm, 31 October 2024.

Who can apply

To apply, your organisation must:

  • be located within the administrative boundary of Kent County Council
  • be a voluntary sports club, registered charity, limited company school, or parish or town council.
  • not have started the project – we are unable to fund retrospectively.
  • already have planning permission (if it's required).

We are unable to fund companies limited by shares.
