Child Protection conferences

A Child Protection Conference is a meeting between your family and teams within the council. We will meet when there are serious safety concerns about your child.

The conference is a chance for all of us to share information. At the meeting, we will:

• discuss what is happening to your child
• agree on a plan to support your family. The plan must make a positive change to keep your child safe.

We understand talking to a social worker or having a child protection plan is not easy. We are committed to reducing the pressure on you and your family during what can be a challenging time. Read about our commitment to:

We will invite you, carers, or other family members to the conference. You will be supported and encouraged to take an active part.
