Ask a Kent Librarian

If you need help with research, homework, or a library service, our librarians are here to answer your questions.

Chat with one of our librarians or send us your question and wait for the answer. It's a bit like going into a library and asking a question in person, but can be done from your computer or mobile device.

For local and family history enquiries, remember you can also contact our Local History and Archives services.

Chat online

This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but Kent librarians are only available Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm (excluding public holidays).

Outside of these hours or during very busy times, your question may be answered by a librarian from somewhere else in the world who is not familiar with the local area and can't access your account details. They may pass your enquiry to local staff if it is about your library loans.

By using the Ask a Kent Librarian service you are agreeing to our terms and conditions. To find out how your information will be used, read the Ask a Kent Librarian privacy notice. We provide this service in partnership with Springshare, so you may also want to read the Springshare privacy policy.
