Sensors, monitors and alarms
The Technology Enhanced Lives Service (TELS) helps you to stay safe and independent in your home and in the community. It provides peace of mind and reassurance to loved ones, who can be contacted in the event of an emergency.
To meet your needs, you will find a wide range of:
- electronic sensors
- detectors
- monitors
- apps
- alarms.
TELS equipment can be monitored 24 hours a day. In an emergency, you are connected to a team of trained advisors. They will find out how you are and what help you need before acting. This includes calling friends and family, or the emergency services.
Costs
Some services may be free depending on your eligibility and needs:
- the short-term service is available for 10 weeks. You do not need a care needs assessment for this service. It's there to help you return to your past levels of safety and independence when you've come out of hospital or respite. This is known as enablement.
- the long-term service open-ended. It's available to those who have been assessed as eligible through a care needs assessment.
- Private Pay Service by Argenti is available to anyone who is not eligible for council funded services. Or for those who do not wish to be assessed.
Scams
We are aware of companies trying to scam residents out of money. We will never ask you to make payment directly or give your bank account details to us.
If someone asks for payment or you're unsure about a letter, email, or call about your care, contact us. We can let you know if the person is who they say they are. Speak to:
- your Case Worker
- our Technology Enhanced Lives Service by calling 03000 414 955 or email tels@kent.gov.uk.
Do not respond to these scammers or send them any money.
