Care leavers local offer
All local authorities have a legal obligation to support young people making the transition from care to independence.
Our local offer for care leavers has the objective to clearly provide in a single document what young people are entitled to and what we can expect from them. This will assist them in making the most out of our services that are available to them and make the most of their independence. Our local offer is available to all eligible care leavers.
The local offer (Kent Cares Town) is available to those who are:
- eligible young people aged 16 or 17 who have been looked after for a period or periods of time, start care after the age of 14, or are still in care
- relevant young people aged 16 or 17 who are no longer looked after, having previously been in a category of eligible young person
- former relevant young people aged 18 to 25 who have left care having previously either been eligible or relevant or both.
