If you've had unprotected sex and think you may have been exposed to HIV it's important to act quickly.
Transmission can be prevented through the use of prophylaxis treatment. The 3 drug combination treatment must be commenced within 72 hours of exposure following assessment by a physician in a clinic or Accident & Emergency Department.
This treatment requires tablets to be taken once or twice a day for 28 days to be successful.
